John J. Grillo
Head Varsity Coach / Program Director
John started coaching wrestling at
Holley in 1975. He went on to coach at Pavilion Central from
1977-1988. Coach Grillo then returned to coaching Holley in 1988.
Coach also started and is head coach and director of the Holley Youth Wrestling
Club and the Gold Force Wrestling Club. He conducts several summer wrestling
camps in the area where he serves as Director and Head Clinician. These
camps include: Hawk Wrestling Camp, Gold Force Wrestling Camp, Genesee
Community Wrestling Camp, and he conducts a Training Camp for those competing in
the USA Nations and Empire State Games. He is a coach on the Western
Region Empire State Game Wrestling Squad. Coach Grillo is active in the
USA Wrestling organization as a coach on the New York State schoolboy, cadet,
and junior teams. Coach Grillo's teams have consistently been ranked high
in the New York State Section V small schools division, many time ranking high
in the small schools division for the entire state.
